Update March 3, 2023
MWVAS is continually guided by data to inform our decisions on Covid policy. Since the onset of Covid in 2020, these decisions included masking, social distancing, limiting lessons, and creating a vaccination requirement for staff and volunteers. We continue to review the data and trends relating to COVID and have made a decision that beginning today, attesting to vaccination status is no longer a requirement for volunteering with MWVAS. We will continue to monitor the situation and make changes to this approach as needed. As always, please stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of any virulent illness, including fever, cough, or shortness of breath
Update Sept 23, 2023
Participant Proof of Vaccination No Longer Required
In response to indications that Covid-19 now appears to be endemic, The CDC has adjusted its Covid-19 guidelines. Further, the CDC recognizes that improved protections against Covid, including vaccinations, testing and treatments, mean that far fewer people are facing serious illness.
As we continue to respond to the evolving Covid-19 landscape, MWVAS will remain engaged with medical professionals, other industry leaders, staff, volunteers and participants. At this time, MWVAS no longer requires proof of vaccination for our participants.
Masking
At this point, masks are no longer required in the indoor or outdoor venues we serve. As always, we believe in meeting our participants where they're at- participants are welcome to wear a mask, and may request that staff and volunteers wear one indoors during their program. We promote an environment of safety, fun and learning- we want each of our participants to feel safe and feel heard where they recreate.
Common Sense Protocols
As always, please do not participate in programming if you are positive for Covid-19, or if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or other infectious illnesses, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of sense of smell or taste, sore throat, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
Thank You!
Over the past 2+ years, Covid-19 has created an environment that at times has been marked with uncertainty, fear, frustration, and isolation. We continue to get through these uncertain times by getting through them together. We thank all of you for the kindness and support that has sustained us throughout this time.
Sincerely,
The MWVAS Team
